THE SEWMOBILE

Goodbye to the SEWMOBILE.
We are scouting for a new version, but for now, its no longer in the fleet 

when you meet me or I come to your location, I will be in a beautiful new silver 2023 Toyota Tacoma.

Disregard the following prose and verbiage until we find another version of the Sewmobile.

The only mobile sewing machine service shop of its kind, that’s state of the art, and is stocked with parts  and service items to service and repair your household or industrial sewing machine.

During the Covid difficulties, the SEWMOBILE earned its stripes by being in all the right places, at all the right times.

Whether it was parked in front of a home, a business, a quilt store, a fabric store, or a super market, the SEWMOBILE put in first class service to all our customers whenever it was required. Distancing was not a problem, as I serviced the machines alone inside the SEWMOBILE, while the customer waited in their home, car, or place of business. A couple times we even fixed machines while our customer shopped.

Now that the SEWMOBILE has been in service for over a year and a half, it has settled into a very comfortable place in the sewing community.

Taking the kids to the museum? Bring your sewing machine and I’ll service it while you’re  in the museum.

Going to a movie? If it’s not too late in the day, bring your machine and I’ll service it while you watch your movie.

Grocery shopping? Antique mall browsing? Taking a tennis lesson or getting your hair done.?

All these scenarios as well as many others have already played out under the watchful eye of the SEWMOBILE.(it has multiple security cameras, so cool)

• If your coming into the Fort Worth area from out of town for a doctor visit or to spend the day with the grandkids, let me know in advance and I’ll meet you and have your machine ready before you head back home.

There‘s plenty of room in the SEWMOBILE for belts, bulbs, bobbins, needles, plates, screws, accessories, and various and sundry items accumulated over 47 years in the sewing machine repair business. I try to carry a good supply of the essentials as well as a gadget or two to help my customers maximize their sewing experience. 

I always have good, quality, robust, dependable sewing machines for sale. All my machines have been serviced and super tuned to operate at the peak of their abilities. Although I service and repair many, many electronic and high tech sewing machines, I don’t sell them. Therefore, all my machines that are for sale are vintage classics that are made with metal gears and metal frames. All my machines are guaranteed to perform as presented or I will give your money back or provide you one that works to your satisfaction. If you are looking for a particular machine, I will be gad to help you find what you‘re looking for, even if you end up buying it elsewhere. I’m here to help my customers any way I can. 

The Sewmobile has a daily range of about 450 miles, round trip. Yes, it’s been all over North Central Texas and it loves it here. It’s driver loves North Central Texas also. 

The roads are top notch, the cities are well run, the people are awesome, and it’s  the best place to have a business and raise a family. Everyone is cooperative and receptive to the goals we set daily in our business of : get it done , do it right, always be fair, make your customer your friend. 

I strive daily to get everyone’s machine serviced and repaired that needs it on that very day. 

Many of my customers have businesses that rely on their sewing machines on a daily basis. If they don’t sew, they don’t get paid. I’ve understood that challenge for over 47 years.

Naturally, those customers are prioritized to the front of the line. 

My awesome customers understand that, and are happy to tell me to get here,  “ when you can”, and “ it’s not an emergency “.  That helps me prioritize my schedule.

That cooperation is appreciated by the entire sewing community. 

If I have a bad day, it’s usually traffic related. Grab a traffic report, get another route, get there ASAP.

Certain days I’m in certain cities and areas. I usually group service calls together so there’s not a lot of criss-crossing the Metroplex.

Sometimes the long double-backs are unavoidable. Sewing emergencies happen right? Have to get it fixed. Life goes on.
